Found a city. Rule the ages.
A settlement builder and real-time strategy game set in antiquity. Arrive with nothing, found a town that runs itself, then lead your people in the field.
In development · playable test builds for Windows and LinuxSaecula is Latin for “the ages”. You begin alone, on foot, with a cart and a few tools. Strike the trees, lay the Founding Stone, and your people begin to arrive: they raise what you plan, work the land, sleep at home and spend the evening at the tavern. Across the map a rival founder is doing the same, and will come for what you build. Make your town strong first; win the war second.
Villagers carry materials to your blueprints, take jobs at farms, lodges, quarries and mines, mend what is damaged and take cover from raiders. A well, a shrine, a tavern and a market make homes grow finer. You decide what to build; they get on with it.
Open the overview to draw roads and walls, place buildings and give orders. Close it and you are back in the world as your leader, in third person, with your soldiers following and fighting beside you.
Your leader keeps a name, skills and gear between games. Strike, block and roll in real time; train your skills and carry what you have earned.
Rome, the Celts, Carthage and the Dacians, with Greek colonists joining in the Founding age. Each has its own buildings, clothes, troops and way of building a town, modelled on what is known of them rather than copied from one another.
Research your way from the Founding age through the Ancient age into the Medieval one: palisades give way to stone walls, gates and towers, and new troops take the field.
Draw walls through points like a road, set gates into them and raise towers. A well-ordered town earns its defences. Your rival may be a warlord who rushes early or a steward who plans, walls and marches late.

Saecula is in development, and test builds go to a small group of players. You get a small launcher that downloads and updates the game, and a personal invite code. If you would like to try it and tell us what you think, write to support@saeculagames.com.
